The Invisible Camera: Your Mind Will Be Blown
Chris Marquardt has developed a really mind blowing new camera called The Invisible Camera. Using ground breaking technology developed by the Max-Planck Institute in Germany, Chris has designed a camera that can properly expose an image even when the film is exposed to ambient light. The special film uses a technique called “directional desensitization” which prevents the emulsion from capturing light; the only light registered is from the very small projection created by the tiny pin hole. What’s even more mind blowing is this technique might allow for images to be captured at ISO 1/500th or 15 stops lower than ISO 100! Chris estimates that this increase in resolution would be equivalent to about 3,000 5D Mark II cameras which I can’t even imagine. Hopefully some of our more technical readers can explain this to me since I have a feeling it’s going on sale a week from this Friday and The Invisible Camera has offered a demo model to Fstoppers.
My first big exhibition is about to open up, tonight we are hanging the images up at Bruuns Galleri Center and it will be on showcase from 18´th of march and untill the 3´rd of april.
in a couple of days I will post a online gallery of all the images, so stay tuned.
Street Photography Exhibition
During the last month i have been working on a exhibition for Bruuns Galleri in Aarhus, based on Street Photography images from the city. A was so fortunate to have Leica Denmark to supply my with a Leica M9 for this work. So this is as “Old School” as it gets while still have the digital advantage. It´s been so wonderful working with this camera and I have really enjoyed making this images, thanks to all the wonderful people that participated. The exhibition will open in Bruuns Galleri on friday the 18th of march 2011. Here is a little “teaser” video from the making of the images.
Found this video in my archives and got the urge to share it with you guys! It such a nice little film and I have always loved the mood in it.
Enjoy.
Leica M9
I am at the moment working on a exhibition based on B&W Street Photography and Leica Denmark decided to sponsor me with their flagship model, the Leica M9 together with the wonderful 35mm lens, for two weeks while I work on shooting the images. The images will be exhibited in Bruuns Galleri later this month.
The reason I wanted to work with this camera and not my professional gear is that the Leica was made for this purpose. When you need to blend in and not be noticed or heard the Leica is your silent partner. When you want to portrait someone you just stopped this camera does not disturb in any way compared to at DSLR with a bulky lens and its clicking shutter draws far to much attention to it self. One other reason is that one does take different pictures with a all manual rangefinder camera then with a regular DSLR.
